Our Fleet
MAD RIVER CANOES
We offer both Mad River Journey 156 and 167 canoes. Mad River’s founder and designer, Jim Henry, crafted the Journey models to provide extreme stability without sacrificing any performance.
The Journey 156 is made out of Triple Tough polyethylene providing a tough canoe that glides easily, tracks and turns with balance and reassuring stability. Our 156 canoes are perfect two-seater canoes for those looking to enjoy an afternoon on the water for a paddle or some fishing. The 156 measures 15’6” in length, has a max cargo load of 1100 lbs and an average unladen weight of 83 lbs.
The Journey 167 is as versatile of canoe as the 156. It offers the same durable design for adventurers, sportsmen, and families or any combination thereof. The biggest difference is the Journey 167 is more spacious than the 156, while still providing stability and versatility you expect. It provides more capacity/storage area than the 156 which is suitable for longer trips on bigger water with bigger loads. The 167 still paddles very well when unloaded. The 167 has a third seat that would be perfect for a small youth, thus allowing a small family to get out on the water together. The 167 is slightly larger and slightly heavier. The 167 measures 16’7″ in length, an average unladen weight of 88 lbs, has the same max cargo load of 1100 lbs.
